Speaker: Dr Jaime Kaminski, Sussex Archaeological Society 

Learn about the fearsome Roman short sword – the Gladius. This weapon is synonymous with the expansion of Rome. Dr Kaminski will explore the history and typology of the iconic legionary weapon. A rare surviving sword in the Royal Armouries collection will be examined (X.5583)
