This weekend festival is part of the supporting programme events for our blockbuster exhibition Gladiators: Heroes of the Colosseum. Why not take the opportunity to visit the exhibition over the bank holiday weekend. Your exhibition tickets will include entry to the museum and the Roman Festival so no need to book on this page.

Come and enjoy an action-packed day at the Roman Festival.

The themed programme will include something for all the family and all ages.
- Experience gladiatorial battles in the amphitheatre.
- Watch fearsome warriors in hand-to-hand combat.
- Find out more about Roman times through dramatic performances.
- Come and design a helmet or shield.
- Taste authentic recipes and food from ancient Rome.
- Have a go at hobby horse chariot racing.

Book your arrival time 10am - 1pm or 1pm - 4pm. You're welcome to stay as long as you wish.
Activities will end by 4pm. The museum will be open from 10am - 5pm.
