The 'For Your Tomorrow - The People's Tribute' installation by Standing with Giants will be at Fort Nelson until 25 January 2026.

We have been overwhelmed by the response to For Your Tomorrow – The People’s Tribute by Standing With Giants. By the time the installation leaves Fort Nelson at the end of January we will have welcomed more than 80,000 visitors to the display. For many this has been a poignant opportunity to pay their respects to relatives and colleagues lost in both World Wars and subsequent conflicts.

'For Your Tomorrow - The People's Tribute' is an art installation of life-size silhouettes representing the 1,475 servicemen under British Command who gave their lives on D-Day, and 50 French resistance fighters. The installation has been created by charity Standing with Giants.

The Royal Armouries stepped in to host the installation following a nation-wide appeal for a venue. Fort Nelson, overlooking Portsmouth, is a fitting location and we are honoured to facilitate this symbolic homecoming for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 

Tickets are free, however we have included a suggested donation of £5 per booking to help us cover some of the costs of hosting the installation and ensuring we can offer free access to this powerful tribute for everyone.  We understand if you are not able to donate, or wish to donate a different amount, but would be grateful for your support.
